Career quizzes are appealing because they end in an answer: you're a “connector”, an “analyst”, a colour. The trouble is what the answer is made of: how you rated yourself on a questionnaire, on one day, in one mood. It measures self-perception, not evidence. Employers don't hire self-perception.
There is a better dataset, and you already own it: what you have actually done. Every job, casual shift, season on a site, semester of study and volunteer role left evidence about what you can be trusted with. Direction built from that evidence starts from solid ground, and it produces something a quiz never does: application materials, because the same evidence that points a direction is what a tailored resume is made of.

No “which of these words describes you”, no colour type, no acronym at the end. Quizzes measure how you answered a questionnaire that day. Your work history is better evidence, and it already exists.
It is not psychometric testing
Formal aptitude and psychometric instruments are real tools, administered by qualified people, mostly used by employers in recruitment. Lumora doesn't administer or imitate them, and won't pretend a chat with an AI is one.
It is not career counselling

I'm changing careers at 40. Can it help?
Career changers are who transferable evidence matters most for. Twenty years of work carries more portable proof (people managed, budgets held, problems handled under pressure) than most resumes ever surface. The diagnosis shows what your history demonstrates; the gap language tells you honestly what a new field would still ask you to prove.
What if I don't have a resume yet?
You'll need something for Lumora to read, but it can be rough. A plain document listing your jobs, what you actually did, and any tickets or study is enough to start; the free fix will improve the wording from there. How is this different from asking ChatGPT what career suits me?
A general chatbot will happily speculate about you from whatever you type.
